2012 News
What a busy year! The preparations for the exhibition at the Museum
Marino Marino which is nearing countdown
– the Vernessage is Saturday 10 November 17.30 Palazzo Tau, Pistoia.
There has been so much to think about and organize, from the sculpture bases, to the cocktail, the
transport, the invitations, the catalogue as well as the poster ( 3 metres x 1 metre 20) which will be
mounted outside the museum.
I will be exhibiting 33
sculptures in both clay and bronze . Fortunately
I found a quality foundry, Ciglia & Carrai, not far from where I live, where I can work my
own wax and bronze and learn on the way. I am now at the last stages of
preparing for the exhibition I am updating
my website and sending out the invitations. Tamsin Pickeral, author of many lovely
books, wrote the critique for my exhibition and is fantastically coming over
from London for
the opening.
I held a small exhibition in Arezzo
in September at the gallery Villicana d’Annibale Galleria d’Arte with Vincenzo
Calli entitled Forme e Profumi.
At the beginning of the year
the sculpture - Elongated Teke was juried into the 54° Biennale di Venezia,
Torino held at the Palazzo delle Esposizione organized and directed by Vittorio
Sgarbi.
2011 News
This
year is flying by…. My main project has been to become more
accomplished in working in wax and bronze as I feel that these two
materials enable me to develop new ideas. I have been working on
my Gallivanting Horses, sculptures designed to communicate a sense of
liberty - wild and free - concentrating on the silhouette and balance
of the sculpture as a whole.
In
July I went to London for an evening vernissage at the Art Performance
Gallery, Heathrow T5 to mark a year to the 2012 Olympic Games where I
presented the sculpture Sophie’s Spirit of Sport. In September I
spent a few days in Paris for the AranimA exhibition at the HIP
gallery Rue Saint Roch.
On 12 November, at Art A Colori gallery, Colle Val D’Elsa, artist Fabio Rota and I will be presenting our works together. http://www.arteacolori.it/
