I made these bronzes with the Ferdinando Marinelli Foundry, Florence.
The foundry, established in 1905, is of international fame for the quality and the craftsmanship of its bronze casts, made by using the lost wax system and the same hand-finishing technique as the Florentine Renaissance sculptors. The patina is in the traditional Renaissance cold method with up to 17 layers to create the richness in tone and transparency.
I worked closely with the foundry staff during the different stages and take pride in preparing the wax models and working on the final chiselling of the bronze. The bronzes are limited editions. |
